Founded in 1960, Jackson Yacht Club is recognized as one of the South’s finest Yacht Clubs and is a member of the Gulf Yachting Association (GYA). The purpose of the Jackson Yacht Club is to support and encourage water sports, including swimming, sailing, power boating and cruising; and to provide good fellowship and sportsmanship among its members.   JYC’s membership community offers dynamic sailing opportunities on the reservoir, a beautiful clubhouse and exquisite dining and bar facilities. We offer a family oriented atmosphere with many sailing programs, social activities and a competition sized pool for members. Jackson Yacht Club’s food is exceptional and the staff is dedicated to help create a welcoming atmosphere.

Leadership

Jackson Yacht Club leadership is comprised of volunteers from among the Club Members.  The Board consists of 13 members and includes the Flag Officers, a Secretary and a Treasurer.  The Flag Officers are the Rear Commodore, the Vice Commodore and the Commodore.

Foundation

The JYC Community Sailing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational charity providing community sailing instruction programs at the John W. McGowan Sailing Center on the docks of the Jackson Yacht Club.  We sponsor First Sail Days and High and Middle School Sailing teams, and contribute to the meets of the public Sunfish swim team.  We build sportsmanship, skill and character through sailing and swimming.

Trophies

Each year the club recognizes outstanding contributions to your Club with perpetual trophies.  The recipients of these awards are nominated by the general membership and/or the Race Committee.  At its December Meeting, the Board of Governors selects the year's recipients of these awards by secret ballot from those nominated. The boating awards are selected by the Race Committee.  The trophies are awarded at the Awards Banquet held in early January.

Hours and Directions

 The Jackson Yacht Club is located at 700 Yacht Club Drive in Ridgeland, Mississippi.  The Club is open Tuesday through Sunday with opening hours that vary during the year.
